Trustmary Score
Book Lapland Trustmary Score is 87/100. It is based on 8052 reviews across 5 review platforms (Tripadvisor, Google, Booking.com and 2 others) and 206 analyzed customer feedback. The overall score also considers the volume and freshness of reviews and feedback in addition to customer satisfaction.
How Trustmary Score is calculated
Trustmary Score is an overall assessment of a company's customer experience on a scale of 0–100. It is calculated by combining data from multiple reliable sources through three main components:
The score is based on feedback and reviews from the last 24 months. The more recent the feedback, the more it affects the score.
SATISFACTION
Book Lapland measures customer satisfaction using star ratings. Of the customer feedback, 91.5% is positive, 5.3% neutral and 3.2% negative.
VOLUME
Book Lapland has received a total of 8141 ratings: 8052 public reviews (Trustmary + external sources like Google and Facebook) and 206 private feedback (collected via Trustmary, not published). A review and feedback from the same form response are counted once. The total provides a solid basis for analyzing customer satisfaction.
FRESHNESS
Book Lapland has been actively receiving reviews and feedback in recent months. Recent feedback and reviews are weighted more in the Trustmary Score than older ones, so the indicator best reflects how Book Lapland has performed recently.
What customers say
Pickup coordination, aurora science explanations, campfire setups with hot beverages, and guide photography have been documented throughout the review period, with heated vehicles remaining available during extended multi-hour tours—particularly when weather-dependent cross-border relocation into Sweden became necessary to locate clear skies. While isolated concerns have been raised about refund processing delays following unsuccessful viewing conditions, tour cancellations when minimum participant thresholds were not met, and photo delivery inconsistencies, the documented experiences have centred on guides adjusting camera settings at multiple viewing locations and sharing images via email within days.
Key Trends
Guide photography has been documented consistently throughout the review period, with camera settings adjusted and images captured at multiple viewing locations during tours lasting between 4 and 12 hours from February 2025 through June 2026.
Cross-border travel into Sweden has intensified from February 2026 onwards, with documented distances ranging from 100 km to nearly 1,000 km when Rovaniemi cloud coverage required alternative viewing sites; this approach has been mentioned with increasing frequency as weather-dependent relocation became necessary to locate clear skies.
Tour duration extensions beyond advertised 4–6 hour timeframes have been reported more frequently since early 2026, with a notable portion of recent experiences describing trips lasting 8–12 hours—particularly during periods of challenging weather conditions when extended drives to Sweden or northern Finland became necessary.
Group size observations have emerged in a smaller portion of experiences since early 2025, with bus tours documented as accommodating 48–70 participants in some instances, while smaller-format tours with 8–16 participants have also been noted; this theme has appeared sporadically across the review timeline without clear concentration in any specific period.

Where Book Lapland can improve
Refund processing has been delayed in isolated cases following unsuccessful aurora viewing conditions, with multi-week delays and inconsistent communication documented in experiences from late 2025 and early 2026.
Tour cancellations on the evening before scheduled departures have been reported in a small number of instances when minimum participant thresholds were not met, despite advance bookings and published minimum requirements having been confirmed.
Photo delivery expectations were not met in a few cases, with images either not received within stated timeframes or described as lower quality than anticipated following tours where auroras were visible primarily through camera rather than to the naked eye.
A small portion of experiences from early 2026 has mentioned tour conditions that included extended waiting periods at roadside locations, inadequate provision of snacks relative to group size, or discomfort during multi-hour drives when weather conditions limited viewing opportunities.

Very great experience! Leevi, Miko, and Nillo are great team! Thank you!
Great experience! We drove for about 1.5hrs north of Rovaniemi to find the right spot for northern light sighting. In few minutes time, we got to see quite strong lights. The guides (3 of them Miro, Jake and I forgot the 3rd name) did a great job in keeping us informed and engaged. Answered the questions and offered to click many pictures.
Nice experience. This winter hike to see the famous snow monsters in Riisitunturi National Park was unquestionably my happiest day during my trip to Finland. Our guide (inside the picture )was absolutely wonderful and thoughtful from the very start. He immediately noticed we were not dressed warmly enough and lent us proper winter gear to keep us safe in the freezing temperature. During the barbecue lunch break, he kindly grilled sausages for all of us. We had such a lovely chat along the trail, and he shared his beautiful story about meeting his wife while hiking in the mountains. The whole journey was full of laughter, he was very encouraging and brought amazing positive energy to our group. A sentence he said to me still stays with me now that I’m back in Hong Kong: whenever you feel frustrated and overwhelmed, think about the peace and calm you feel out hiking in nature. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Finland. Don’t miss this unforgettable experience!
