After an amazing wine tour in the Setubal region where we had the chance to taste the wonderful Setubal wines, we were so impressed that we decided to book another tour with this company, this time to explore the Alentejo wines. The Alentejo tour was just as exceptional! We visited the stunning Ervideira and Cartuxa wineries, where the wines were outstanding. The service was impeccable, and our guide made the whole experience even better with his knowledge and warmth. Aside from the fantastic wine tastings, we also had the chance to visit the Roman Temple, the Chapel of Bones, and a cork factory, which made for a perfect blend of history, culture, and great wine. Great wine tour with fantastic guide. Thanks for a fantastic day we had on this tour. Picked up ahead of time (never happens to us before) and met a fantastic guide in João Maria Almeida that we from the first minute wanted to make this a good day. First of to the fish marked, that was actually very good (we where skeptical to this one) where we got Oysters and sparkling wine. Then of to a great tour (despite some fog) through national park and of to the first winery where we got a very good guided tour of the wineries 190 years history - this was truly a guide that wanted to tell the story and been around. Second winery a great stop with 5 wines and some chees (and a bit more wine and a tour of the production that was not on the program). Lunch (that was included) and of to the third one with lots of art in addition to the wine tour and tasting before we headed of to the tile manufacturer Three really good wineries with some good wines (we have our share of it with us home). This was the highlight of our trip to Lisabon and better than other similar tours we have been too other places in the world

Don’t Miss! This was a wonderful opportunity to explore the surrounding Lisbon area and see the beautiful seaside and mountains just beyond the city. Every stop provided a charming peek into the culture. You see fresh fish and gorgeous local vegetables at the market visit (and have the “breakfast of champions” -oyster and champagne) then a lovely drive to a quaint shop to view hand made tile made from start to finish. On to the wineries to experience the breadth of old and new wines in picturesque settings with knowledgeable guides. Lunch along the way is a chance to eat with and like the locals. My guide, João, was a delight. Obviously very proud of his region and offering bits of knowledge that you wouldn’t get in a guidebook. Highly recommend this tour.

A must do if you are in Lisbon! A friend and I were staying in Lisbon for a few days and were looking to find a guided tour of the region, and we are so glad we chose this tour – it was by far the best part of our trip! Helena was incredibly considerate and well-equipped in every way – in her car, she had generous amounts of cough drops on hand for my sore throat and made sure to get my friend and I good breakfast of great pastries at the market after hearing we had not eaten yet. She also helped us pick out great gifts for our mothers! The market was brimming with extremely fresh and local produce, the views were incredible from the drive, and the lunch spot we went to was amazing, my salmon salad was so fresh! Everything we ate was delicious, and everywhere we went was beautiful, and Helena helped us make the most out of everything. Painting tiles was my favorite part, it was fun, relaxing, and educational – you visit one shop to learn how to make the tiles (where you can also buy some) and another to paint. The wine tasting was really interesting, it also included a tour of the grounds and the guide was a historian who taught us so much about both wine-making and Portuguese history. Lastly, Helena is simply a lovely person to talk to – sweet, kind, and understanding – and her knowledge of the area was really helpful in helping us plan a better trip for the days ahead. If you want to experience the beauty of Sesimbra with a local, this tour is well worth it!

Totally worth it! We had the most incredible wine tour, and I can’t recommend it enough! My experience. This private wine tour was absolutely incredible! Our guide was truly exceptional, going above and beyond to make the day unforgettable. Each of the three wineries we visited was so unique, offering a variety of experiences that made it a true journey through the region’s wine culture. I have to mention our guide Afonso who was not only very friendly and knowlegeable, but suggested we go at the beach for lunch instead of going to the market which was unexpectedly closed for a repair. Excellent tour and guide! Five-Star Review This tour was absolutely the highlight of our trip to Portugal! We started the day at the Mercado do Livramento, a stunning fresh market with so much to see. Then, we had the most amazing experience painting Portuguese tiles at a workshop—it was such a unique and memorable activity! Afterward, we visited a castle in Sesimbra and had lunch by the sea. The restaurant was a fantastic recommendation from our tour guide, and the food was incredible. Sesimbra is such a beautiful town; it’s so worth a visit. We also enjoyed a brilliant wine tasting at a local cellar, which was a perfect way to experience the region’s wines. To top it all off, we stopped by the Christ King statue, which offered breathtaking views to end the day. A Great Day Exploring Near Lisbon. After a few days in Lisbon, we decided it was time to get out and see the countryside. We chose this tour based on the itinerary and rave reviews, and we were not disappointed. We were picked up by Helena and proceeded to our first stop, the traditional market. On the drive she filled us in the the history of the region including the rise, fall and eventual return of the fishing industry. At the market we saw the amazing fish and produce from the area along with the black pork. We tasted the pastel da nata made on sight. I was slightly tempted to join the husbands that were at the bar while their wives shopped, but I was holding back knowing wine tasting was coming. We followed up the market with a scenic drive through the national park en route to the first winery. The panoramic views from the pullouts were stunning. The pictures do not do it justice. The first winery specialized in Moscatel. The tour of the storage facilities was fascinating, and the we got our first taste of this famous fortified wine. Wife and I are not sweet wine drinkers, so the Moscatel was not tour liking, we could still appreciate the quality of the product. Our guide, knowing our preference for red wines was able to get us a taste of a few of their red varieties. These were much more to our liking, and took a couple back with us. Lunch was just a short stroll to a lovely local establishment. The food was cooked directly over the coals on an outdoor grill. The smells had my mouth watering even before we sat down. We got the fish of the day and the black pork. Both dishes were simple yet absolutely delicious. Then it was on to our second winery and our last stop. This was a much smaller and we got a private tour of the facility from field to bottle. Their wine was the high quality with an excellent value that you hope to find in Portugal. They even have shipping options. The tour was an excellent way for us to get out and experience life away from Lisbon. Just an amazing day. Could not recommend enough.

Due to heavy traffic we had a delayed pick up at our hotel, but our guide made up for it with a stop at a castle at the end of our tour and surprised us with a bottle of wine. Bernardo was more than gracious and friendly the entire day. His English was great, even for our mature ears. He made sure we were comfortable and satisfied the entire tour. Four entre selections were offered for lunch. We chose the grilled black pork slices and the grilled fish. Both included vegetables & potatoes. The wine served alongside was very good as well. The 3 stops for wine tastings were informative and generous pours of 3-5 wines at each. Pricing for wine to purchase was very reasonable. We paid 7 euros for a bottle of moscatel at one winery, and splurged at another one for 29 euros. Bernardo was able to answer our questions and provided many interesting bits of information during our drive. This was a very comfortable, “un-stuffy” day out of the city, and everyone involved was more than kind and caring. We would definitely recommend it to family & friends.

Perfect Day! We had a perfect day with our new ‘cool friend’ Helena , sharing food, stories and wine . Wonderful to see the local fish, seafood ,fruit and vegetable market , taste the best pastry on earth !! , marvel at the skill and love poured into each hand painted tile , and the local smaller wine producers provide excellent quality and show their passion for their efforts. We will be back to Portugal as this was our first visit and will definitely find Helena again to coordinate our experience and travels.
