We had a great time on our free tour. It lasted a little over 50 minutes which I was very impressed by. The history is really well catalogued. There’s an audio guide and several informational plaques if you want to do a self guided tour. The gift shop has a lot of great local goods and some nature-related toys and activities to buy for kids.

There's lots to do at this park: dog park, playground, pickelball, fish, archery, and just walk around. There's also a few food trucks when we get hungry. Batbrooms are decent as well. We always enjoy seeing the plans take off, too!

Usually pretty crowded & noisy from the plane traffic. Great respite in the middle of the city though & so glad they added the second airplane playground for smaller kids!

Footpaths are not well marked and the walking trail deadends at two different points. The boardwalk is okay but still not marked well.

Osage Park is a perfect spot to relax in Bentonville! I loved the scenic boardwalks over the wetlands, the aviation-themed playground, and watching planes from Thaden Field. The park has a great mix of nature, trails, a fishing dock, and even an archery range. It’s peaceful, well-maintained, and free to visit—a great place to unwind!

Cool historic home that they turned into a museum right in downtown Bentonville. The cabin store at the front has lots of cool local vendors and shops represented too. Great stop for anyone that loves history!

NWA Must See. Coler is amazing! Great walking trails and having a cute coffee shop on the trail on chilly mornings is wonderful. The Rise stairs are a fun challenge and give you a beautiful view of the tree line at Coler, especially beautiful with all the leaves changing for fall like it was in November. Must see spot in NWA!

Great Picture of the 1800s. I visited the museum and the store on my visit. They offered tours and lots of artifacts showing life in the 1800s, which was really cool to see and hear about! The cabin when you first walk in now serves as a gift shop that had lots of cool local products you could buy as souvenirs of your visit. I highly recommend for any history buff!

Our visit to the Peel Museum was amazing though we couldn’t see the botanical garden due to the season. The free tour was an absolute highlight, thanks to the knowledgeable and engaging tour guide who made the family’s and overall museum history come alive with fascinating stories and insights. The museum itself is beautifully curated, offering a rich glimpse into the local heritage. I also loved the museum store, which featured a wonderful selection of locally made goods and unique goodies—perfect for finding a special souvenir. The entire experience was both educational and enjoyable, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. A true hidden gem in the NWA region.

What a beautiful oasis, Dr. Compton knew a thing or two about plants and nature. Stepping into his home takes you back in time and reconnects you to nature in the middle of a bustling downtown. So glad this place has been preserved. Thank you to Dr. Compton for all of his work, especially his conservation efforts of the Buffalo River! (Let's keep it that way). It is also a fantastic wedding venue!

Such a wonderful park with lots of boardwalks to look at the wetlands of the Ozarks. The park was beautiful and is very well kept. The pickleball courts do get busy rather quickly in the spring/summer, so make sure to prepare to wait for an open court! The pavilion is also a nice spot to hang out after your walk.

My family and I had such a wonderful time exploring all the park has to offer. The walking trails are beautifully maintained, and the scenic views around the lake were breathtaking. My child loved the open play areas and spotting wildlife, while my partner and I enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and well-placed seating areas to relax. The variety of activities kept everyone entertained, from the unique nature play area to the modern pickleball courts. We even discovered the boardwalk through the wetlands, which felt like stepping into another world! The park's design truly blends recreation and nature seamlessly. Osage Park also has plenty of shaded spots, clean restrooms, and friendly staff, which made our visit even better. Whether you're looking for adventure or a peaceful retreat, this place has it all. We can’t wait to come back for another family day out!

The trails are incredibly well-designed, offering options for all skill levels. My family and I loved the variety of trails. Even if you’re not into biking, the greenway that goes through the park and scenic spots are amazing. The Hub is a highlight—watching riders take on the jumps is so fun, and the coffee shop nearby is the perfect spot to recharge. We also enjoyed relaxing at the Creekside area, where you can hammock, picnic, or just soak up the serene vibe. Coler is more than just a mountain biking destination; it’s a community space that brings people together in nature. We’re already planning our next visit! I'd love to go back to stay at the campgrounds next time!

Quick & Local Fun! Went to both the Peel Museum & The Museum Store. The Museum had a quick, free tour every 30 minutes. The tour itself was about 40 minutes, but very educational. I learned about how the Peel family came to Bentonville, got started, and how the home become a historical landmark for the city. The store is a lovely small business that prioritizes local goods! They have wonderful candles (I recommend the Northwest Arkansas candle) & the cutest gifts for any occasion. Definitely a great spot for supporting local!

THE place to stay for a bentonville bike trip. The trails and facilities are all top notch as every review basically stated already. Met some of the staff as well...Ben- you da man! Thanks for getting us situated ! The preserve is a bit of a historical time capsule as well. The cafe is situated on an old farmstead complete with barns, meadows and a stream. You won't see any cars as it's hike/bike in only. Quiet and peaceful at night, community fire pit...too many positives just stop looking and stay here .

Phenomenal hiking and biking for everyone — families to fanatics! The online booking process was easy, and the communication was very good. A secure, clean campground with a code needed to enter and to access the restroom/shower building. The nicest, cleanest campground restroom that I’ve ever encountered! I appreciate the attention to detail from the architecture to the wagons provided to move the camp equipment from cars to the campsites. Also, the dishwashing and e-bike charging stations are great amenities. There were also self-pay firewood stations. But most importantly, the variety of hiking and biking trails in this area are phenomenal — from expert level to toddler-strider level.

I came here to take my dog for a walk while my husband goes mountain biking. I travel and hike across the United States, and I've rarely come across many pretentious individuals. Sorry, everyone, but you're still in Arkansas 🙄😂. Please leave your ego at home; no one needs it outside your door. Aside from the rude people, we had a great time on our walk, even though it was crowded.

We sooo enjoyed the tour of the Peel Mansion…our guide was very informative and showed such a genuine interest in the beautiful mansion that was saved from destruction by Mrs. Sam Walton. Their gift shop was also a real treat!! Not only was the merchandise nice, well displayed, and very reasonably priced, the staff was welcoming, helpful, and shared with us the history of the cabin that housed the shop…one Mr. Walton had disassembled and rebuilt on the site. There is also a lovely garden! One of our favorite visits in the area. No tickets or reservation required.

We had such a great time here! The staff was amazing (Tim, Chris and Jana), very funny and safety conscious. They kept us entertained the entire time and helped us with our shooting. We reserved an hour slot and they provided the bows and arrows. There was a variety of bows to try and you could swap them out as you pleased. They had a variety of targets all placed at various distances. They even host some themed events. If we lived here, we would be here all the time!

The house and grounds were lovely. We jumped into a tour. We noticed by the end that there was no mention of the Peel family owning slaves. There was talk of "help" but no acknowledgement of slavery. The 5000 apple trees leads us to believe it was a plantation and there was no mention of what type of people did the work and supported the family. The General we learned took care of Mr Peel after his wife died but there were obviously people supporting them before who were slaves. It would have been better to acknowledge that out of respect and to be historically accurate.
