I had an exceptionally positive experience yesterday (2/26/2025) applying for a tourist visa at the Embassy of Cambodia in Washington DC. Earlier this month, the embassy started offering same day visas to walk in applicants on Wednesdays, and I went early, with my application, money order and photo in hand to apply. Although I was so early that the visa office was still closed, they let me in and took my application materials. I received my visa a few minutes later from the visa officer, who asked me to check to make sure the relevant information was accurate; he then double checked again. He was very friendly and efficient. I travel a lot and have been to many embassy visa offices and this was the fastest, most efficient experience I’ve had, ever! Applicants should also definitely take advantage of the same day visa service on Wednesdays.

We went on Wednesday same day Fast track visa service and it was such a great experience with Mark at the counter he was super courteous and very helpful, even the visa officer came to us and informed us about the progress on our visa and visa was ready just in 15 minutes even though the website says 30-45 minutes. This occurred during the New Year’s holiday and my second mailing didn’t arrive the next day but several days later. 1. The website needs to be updated to allow for newer US passport numbers that include alphabetic characters. 2. The question for entry date comes too late in the process--after inputting personal info, passport info, photos, etc.-- so if you've unwittingly started to apply before the allowable date, you've wasted a lot of effort that will need to be repeated at a later time. 3. The chat feature is never online. 4. Even after applying within the allowable timeframe, I got a message that I applied too early and had to call the embassy in Cambodia to approve the application. 5. But the ability to get an e-Visa is definitely a better option than mailing your passport to Cambodia or going to the embassy in D.C.

This is not a Cambodia embassy it's a American embassy want to be because when you call in to the embassy you only allowed to speak English only when it's a Cambodia embassy. Cambodia embassy is to help Cambodian and foreign with visa but most old Cambodian people or khmer people just come to america can't speak English so the embassy need to speak khmer with them not to say English only. It embarrassing for a Cambodian people can't speak khmer at the Cambodia embassy when they call in for information but if you go to other country embassy they speak their language and English that's why it call embassy for their country to help their people with information when they away from thier County. The top management of Cambodia embassy need to change that policy speak English only when embassy suppose to help khmer and its nothing wrong to speak khmer at a Cambodia embassy its no shame to it anyone will agree with this.

Very impressed. I did not feel comfortable having to send my original passport to obtain my Khmer visa. I followed the direction instructed on visa application, chose UPS to submit docs along with a paid return envelope. The process was smooth, and I did not have to inquire via email nor follow up on the status of my visa application. Exactly as the service time frame provided 7-10 business days on the application. I received my passport with the approved Khmer visa attached in exactly two weeks from the day I sent the forms. Thank you to the staff at the Royal Embassy of Cambodia! 🙏
