Like it or not, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 is on the way. Amazon Prime Video's much-debated series, which explores some of the deep lore of the Lord of the Rings franchise, has been a big hit for the streamer, even though it hasn't exactly been universally loved by fans of the book series. But the show's impressive production design, high-quality CGI, and solid performances have made The Rings of Power one of Prime Video's most-watched shows.

It seems as though it has a pretty good chance of going the distance, too, by completing the story of the origin of the One Ring and Galadriel's epic conflict with Sauron in the Second Age. Though The Rings of Power hasn't yet been renewed for a fourth season, The Hollywood Reporter reported in May 2026 that Prime Video has already begun development and pre-production on Season 4 in hopes of getting things rolling quickly if the streamer does renew it.
